About Space Pictures

I’m Jack — an astrophotographer based on the edge of the Norfolk Broads. Space Pictures is where I offer high-quality prints, posters, calendars and gifts created from my deep-sky imaging work.

Even though astrophotographers all image the same objects, no two results are identical. Everyone makes different choices in processing and presentation. The big observatories run by the space agencies — the VLT in Chile, the Vera Rubin Observatory, JWST up in space, to name just a few — produce incredible scientific images that are also visually stunning. Professional rigs, professional astronomers, teams of data engineers, billions of dollars… it’s a different world. Amateur work, however, brings something else entirely: personality, interpretation, and — dare I say it — a touch of artistic flair, all on a fraction of the budget, usually by one person alone in the dark, in sub-optimal weather conditions most of the time.
I aim to keep things accurate and understated, while still giving each image a bit of character through colour choices and subtle artistic licence where it suits. The goal isn’t to compete with the space agencies — just to produce solid, well-crafted images that stand confidently on their own as prints or wall art.

Every print and product here is made to order by a professional UK print partner who specialises in archival-quality materials. Whether it’s a small print or a large wall piece, the focus is always on quality, accuracy and a faithful representation of the image.

If you're interested in the full story — my background, observatory builds, equipment, and the more personal side of the hobby — you’ll find all of that on my main site:

Thanks for visiting Space Pictures — hopefully one of my images stands out enough for you to pick it as a print for your wall, a poster for your room, or a gift for a friend… whatever suits you.
